JOHNNY BAKANE
3rd Dan, Goju Shorei
Johnny Bakane holds a BA degree in Anthropology and has a combined total of more than 20 years of military and martial arts experience.
He is a 1998 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and a 1999 graduate of the United States Army Officer Candidate School at Ft. Benning GA.
His approach brings his significant experience in training, conditioning, physical and operational security, and a solid understanding of how modern karate thinking and training can be brought to bear in self defense.
MISTY BAKANE
2nd Dan, Goju Shorei
Misty Bakane holds a BA degree in Elementary Education, having taught in elementary and middle school grades over the last 20 years.
She is a 2001 graduate of the University of New Mexico's School of Education.
Her approach combines years of working in a variety of educational environments with a deep understanding of self defense and martial arts instruction for adults, children, and persons with special needs and/or disabilities.
Goju Shorei is an American karate style rooted in the 1960s and 1970s full contact fighting. Though times have changed, the focus on setting people up to be effective practitioners of martial arts has not.
We are affiliated with the American Karate Association and the Adaptive Martial Arts Association.
